Agreement

By installing or using Pause ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these terms. Pause is operated by Pause ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Pause does

Pause is a Shopify app that helps merchants collect customer feedback at key moments in the shopping journey. Merchants define learning goals, and Pause generates questions, determines when to ask them based on shopper behavior, and organizes responses into themed insights.

Eligibility

You must have an active Shopify store to use Pause. By installing the app, you confirm that you are authorized to install apps on the store and agree to these terms on behalf of the store owner.

Your account

Your Pause account is linked to your Shopify store. Authentication is handled through Shopify's OAuth system. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Pause to collect sensitive personal information (financial data, health data, government IDs) through feedback questions.
• Use deceptive or misleading questions to manipulate shoppers.
• Misrepresent discount codes or incentives shown through Pause.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Pause software.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or Shopify's terms of service.

Pricing and billing

Pause offers a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system. You can cancel at any time from the Shopify admin. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

Data and privacy

Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for disclosing to your customers that Pause may collect browsing signals and voluntary feedback on your store.

Intellectual property

You own the feedback data collected from your customers. We retain the right to use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our service. The Pause software, brand, and design are our intellectual property.

AI-generated content

Pause uses AI to generate questions and classify responses. AI output is provided as-is and may not always be accurate. You should review generated questions before they go live and verify that insights reflect the underlying feedback. We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated insights.

Service availability

We aim to keep Pause available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the service at any time. We will notify merchants of significant changes via the Pause dashboard or email.

Limitation of liability

Pause is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost revenue, data loss, or business interruption. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Pause at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. On termination, we will delete your data within 30 days unless required by law to retain it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of Pause after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
